How to accept online payments on your website in Guyana.
Taking payments online is the hardest part of selling on the internet in Guyana. Here are your options, what each one needs from you, and how we build them into online stores and booking systems.

MMG payments on your website
MMG is how a large share of Guyanese customers already pay for things. To take MMG payments through a website, your business needs an MMG merchant account, which you apply for with MMG. We build the checkout or booking step that starts the payment, the confirmation that marks the order paid, the receipt, and the record your staff see.
Card payments (Visa and Mastercard)
To take card payments on your site, your business needs an e-commerce merchant account. Start with your own bank and ask specifically for online card acceptance, not just a card machine. Fees and approval times vary, so get them in writing.
Once you have a gateway, we connect it so the price is checked on the server, the payment is confirmed before the order or booking is marked paid, and both sides get a receipt.
PayPal and Stripe in Guyana
PayPal can be useful for overseas and diaspora customers who already use it, but check what your own account can receive and withdraw before making it your main checkout. Stripe's list of supported countries changes, so check it before planning around it.
No gateway needed: WhatsApp checkout, transfer and pay on arrival
You don't need a payment gateway to sell online. With WhatsApp checkout, the customer's order or booking arrives in a WhatsApp chat already written out, and you confirm payment by MMG transfer, bank transfer or cash on delivery. It's how the Interlude.XI store works, and it's the fastest way to start while a merchant account is being approved.
Booking systems with payments
For rentals, tracks, tours, salons and clinics, payment is part of the booking. 555 Speedway is an example: families reserve a kart or sim session in a few taps, and staff see the booking arrive with a reference number, the waiver status and a price the server has already checked, so what the customer sees is what the track charges.
We build the same thing for other businesses: live availability, deposits or full payment, automatic confirmations and a back office for staff. Gia's Villa uses a lighter version to get apartment viewings booked.
What we build, and what you'll need to do
We do: the checkout or booking flow, the connection to your payment provider, prices checked on the server (so nobody can edit the total in their browser), payment confirmation, receipts, order and booking records, and testing before launch.
You do: apply for the merchant account (MMG, your bank or another provider) in your business's name, because only the business can. We'll tell you what those applications usually ask for.
