Savor The Islands home page

Savor The Islands is a curated day of Caribbean food, music and culture in Brooklyn, so the site has to make people feel the day before they buy a ticket. It also handles the business side: the ticket buttons hand off to Eventbrite, and vendor sign-ups and sponsor and press enquiries come in through one page and land in one dashboard.

What we built

  • Designed and built a bold, motion-rich festival site with a looping food video, lots of colour and island flags
  • Built vendor and contact forms that save every lead and email the team straight away
  • Built a password-protected admin dashboard to approve vendors, send welcome emails and check guests in

The standout

From application to acceptance

Vendors apply on the site with their details and up to five photos of their food. Each application lands in the team's inbox and in the admin dashboard. From there, approving it offers to send a branded welcome email with the event details and an optional contract link.

The breakdown

Everything it does, front to back.

11 things this site handles — most of them invisible until you need them.

What visitors see

  • Cinematic hero

A full-screen looping video of Caribbean dishes, a gold countdown to 21 August 2027 and a Get Tickets button just below it.

  • Island flag marquee

A scrolling banner of real Caribbean flags that pauses when you hover over it, with 16 Caribbean flags shown again in the footer.

  • Vendor accordion

Four signature dishes from Jamaica, Trinidad, Haiti and Guyana open out as you hover to show what each one is.

  • The ULTRA Experience

Three zones for music, rum and mixology, and chef tastings, each with tilting photos and floating icons.

  • Two ticket tiers

Free general admission alongside an Early Bird Premium tier from $50, with the Premium card glowing to lead the eye.

  • One page for everything

A tabbed page for tickets, vendor applications and contact, where the sponsorship link opens the contact form with the right topic already picked.

What runs behind it

  • Vendor applications

Details and up to five product photos save to a database and file storage, and a copy lands in the festival inbox.

  • Private email sending

Form notifications and vendor acceptances go out through server functions and the festival's own mailbox, so no email passwords sit in the page.

  • Admin dashboard

A password-gated page to search, filter and approve vendors, read enquiries, log ticket entries, mark guests as checked in and export everything to CSV.

  • Branded acceptance email

Approving a vendor offers to send a designed welcome email with the date, time and place, plus a contract-signing button when a link is added.

  • JotForm import

Older applications from JotForm can be uploaded as a CSV, and duplicates are skipped by matching email or business name.
